Association of sports, nutrition and fitness sciences focusses on the holistic development of Indian sportspersons. The Association worked as the knowledge partner for the second edition “Khelo India youth games” held at Chatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex, Balewadi in Pune. The games were held between 9th to 20th January. The Association partnered with Khelo India and National Yuva Co-operative Society(NYCS) for the event.
The expert members of the association- Sports Nutritionists, Sports Sciences specialists, Sports physiotherapists, and Sports psychologists conducted physical fitness assessments, body composition tests, and offered advice to the budding players on nutrition and psychology.
The programme was attended by the Sports Minister- Col Rajyavardhan Rathod, Olympic Silver medallist 2004, and also the Maharashtra State Sports Minister- Mr. Vinod Tawde.
The Founder members, executive council members, and student members from SMRK College, Nashik, SNDT College, Matunga, Mumbai, College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai, SNDT College, Pune worked relentlessly for this event.
The event helped to create general awareness among sportspersons, parents, and coaches about the importance of nutrition, psychology and fitness assessment in the holistic development of a sportspersons.
